Men's counselling explainer for Vancouver practice

A promotional animation showcasing Manifest Wellness' approach to men's counselling and coaching services

Overview

Men often face unique barriers to seeking mental health support. Manifest Wellness is a Vancouver-based men's counselling and coaching practice offering a proprietary skills-based approach to mental health support for men, but communicating something that abstract requires more than words.

Produced in collaboration with Black Rhino Creative, we created an explainer animation to showcase Manifest's proprietary counselling methodology and help prospective clients understand what to expect. The animation is featured on the Manifest Wellness website.

Approach

Visual metaphors

The entire animation is built around physical objects as metaphors for mental wellness. Different tools from a Swiss army knife represent the range of methodologies Manifest uses. A machine with stuck gears depicts a mind that can be loosened through personal growth. A maze marked with flagged checkpoints maps the journey of personal development, with goals as milestones rather than a finish line. The visual language was deliberately surreal and figurative.
